Pulled Pork Sliders

Always a hit at my house. I bag and freeze whole recipes of the pulled pork (uncooked) so I can just take it out of the freezer, pour the contents in the crockpot and let it cook all day. It's one of my family's favorite freezer-to-crockpot meals. The sandwiches come together in a snap after the pork has cooked all day.

These sliders come together so fast after cooking the bbq pulled pork in the crockpot all day. My family raves about these every time I make them!

I assemble bags of pulled pork ingredients and freeze them so I can just defrost and pour in the crockpot. They are one of my many freezer meals I make on a regular basis. It’s very easy to let the bag of frozen ingredients defrost on the counter overnight, then just pour in the crockpot in the morning, set to low then get on with your day.

I serve the bbq pulled pork with rice when I don’t have time to make the sliders. To make the sliders, you’ll need:

Bread rolls – I use frozen mini ciabatta loaves, defrosted on the counter all day.

Garlic butter – I just melt one stick of butter, add crushed garlic and salt/pepper to taste.

Cheese – mozzarella and provolone both work well, but provolone has more of a creamy flavor and a stretch that’s nice.

Ingredients

  • 1 recipe bbq pulled pork, cooked all day in the crockpot and shredded
  • 8-10 mini ciabatta rolls – or other small bread rolls
  • 1 stick butter melted
  • 6 cloves garlic,crushed
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2-3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, or 8-10 slices provolone

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Slice each bread roll in half.
  • Put all the 'tops' on a baking sheet. Brush with garlic butter. Toast in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  • Repeat this process for the 'bottoms'.
  • Using tongs, place a good bit of pulled pork on each 'bottom'. Top with cheese.
  • Bake at 400° for 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is as melted/browned as you'd like.
  • Top with the 'tops". You can brush butter on the tops and bake again to give it a nice glisten, but my kids are usually so hungry by this point I just serve as is.
