Summer begins in T- minus - one - hour!! The kids will be on their way home soon! School year 22/23, that’s a wrap! It was a pretty smooth school year. Everyone did well in the academic department, tried new things, overcame challenges, and grew in confidence. Next year we’ll have a SENIOR(!!), 10th grader, 9th grader, 7th grader and a 4th grader! That’s three high schoolers, one middle schooler, and one elementary schooler. And all will be in sports/band/choir/etc. I love it. I love it all. I was just telling my husband last week, “I’ll never not be in grief that all our babies are no longer babies, but it sure is wonderful to see them grow into themselves and go into the world.” Air Force Daughter and Marine Corps Son are both doing well in the United States: Being adults, overcoming challenges, making their own choices, supporting themselves and building their own lives. It does me good to see them “doing life”. Back here in Germany, we’re going to make the most of the summer, swim a lot, relax, savor this gorgeous weather, and enjoy a wee bit of travel. Oh, AND have our annual summer STAR WARS MOVIE MARATHON on pizza movie night. All 11 of them on 11 consecutive Fridays. It takes us precisely through summer. By the end of summer we’re all sick of Star Wars and ready to watch the old classics like Indiana Jones and Back to the Future again. Ha. Happy summer!! - SV ... See MoreSee Less
